1. About JamSession Lab

JamSession Lab organises jam session music events in Ireland and provides this website so members can create accounts, register for events, share photos and videos in the gallery, and take part in the community forum. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

2. Minimum age

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Your age is self-certified through the date of birth you provide at registration. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that we reasonably believe belong to people under 18.

3. Accounts & security

You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Email verification is required before using member features such as event registration, profile editing, and community participation. Phone numbers must be unique to one account and are collected so we can invite you to the community WhatsApp group.

4. Events & registrations

Event listings, capacity, and registration windows are managed by JamSession Lab staff. Registering for an event does not guarantee a performance slot where space or format is limited. You may cancel a registration through the site; please cancel if you cannot attend so others can take your place. We may refuse or cancel registrations in cases of abuse, capacity limits, or operational needs.

5. Your personal data

At registration we collect your name, display name, email address, phone number, date of birth, location (county and town), and the instruments you play. We use this information to:

  • manage your account and event registrations;
  • contact you about events you have signed up for;
  • send you an invitation to the JamSession Lab community WhatsApp group. This is the specific purpose for which we collect your phone number;
  • display your public profile (display name, instruments, and any optional details you choose to add).

Full details of how we process and protect your data are set out in our Privacy Policy.

6. Content you upload

Photos, videos, posts, and comments you submit to the Gallery or the community forum are reviewed by our moderators before they become publicly visible. By uploading content you confirm that:

  • you own the content or have permission to share it;
  • it does not contain unlawful, offensive, or discriminatory material;
  • people who appear in it have not objected to it being shared;
  • it is relevant to JamSession Lab events and the music community.

You grant JamSession Lab a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and moderate that content on this website for as long as it remains published.

7. Content removal & moderation

We may reject, remove, or hide any uploaded content at any time, including content that has already been approved and published, if we believe it breaches these terms, infringes someone's rights, or is otherwise inappropriate. Rejected media files are removed from our media storage. You may delete your own posts and comments where the site allows, or request removal by contacting us.

8. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the site, for example by attempting to break security, spam other members, harass anyone, upload malware, scrape the service at scale, or impersonate others. We may suspend or permanently delete accounts that breach these terms.

9. Account deletion

You may permanently delete your account from Edit Profile. Deletion removes your personal data and user-generated content linked to your account as described in the Privacy Policy. This cannot be undone.

10. Liability

JamSession Lab events are community music sessions. Attendance and participation are at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website or attendance at events, except where liability cannot be excluded (for example death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email or through a notice on the website. Continuing to use the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Contact

If you have questions about these terms or want to request content or account help, use our Contact page or email staff@jamsessionlab.ie.
